I am setting up my new place and do not have internet yet. I never knew it could take so long to set up internet but apparently it takes over a week! I moved over 4th of July weekend and have enjoyed the NOPA and Panhandle area, not to mention the quick bus ride to the civic center. I am pressed for time today so I will leave with something I wrote a few weeks ago. (Warning, I tend to write sappy poetry when I can’t sleep):
Watching Love Pedals Fall
Blake Atkerson
Watching love pedals fall
And trusting trees sway
To and fro, and oh so tall.
Whispering wind
Wandering Clouds
Sunny people slumbering softly
Peace and solitude supply
The calmer train of mind
The fresh thoughts of my
Lovely, leisurely stroll
Down a path of prospect
Void of vengeance and vexation.
The thoughts of man alone
Float effortlessly and are snatched
By the a consciousness drone
That buzzes back to the hive
Concocting choice and challenge
Reasoning right from rotten
I sit in a sea of ideological swell
Logic lounges lucidly next to logos
And I review my religious shell.
Peering out into the penumbra
Of a world so diversely directed.
I a man mingling in mind and musing.
Rudely awakened with ambiguous stares
As the stars shine on a single silhouette
I find freedom in a field of daily affairs
And it is this meadow I meet my imaginations
Alone in the night, noticeable to none
Darkness divulging inner delights and demons
A journey of the emotions and thought
Has ended as the whispering wind wanes
And the love pedals cease to drop
Releasing me from false reality
Dripping my dreams from my head
In a sobering substance of sanity.
